Alaska Pebble Mine
CJI managed transportation requirements for Northern Dynasty Mines on the mine feasibility study for the Pebble Mine in the Iliamna region of south west Alaska. Pebble Mine is known to be one of the biggest copper deposits in the world.
CJI scope of work involved the detailed assessment of truck and barge modes of transport. A full transportation appraisal was made of road and pipeline means of moving concentrate. This was done in conjunction with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Infrastructure.
CJI also prepared a road benefit analysis for mine permitting requirements and was responsible for the preparation of feasibility designs for the 150 kilometre access road to the mine from tide water. This involved input from local communities and environmental scientists.
